In celebration of this year’s Pride season, we have once again collaborated with Gone Rogue to proudly present Queer Up! Exhibition at Marconi Lounge, celebrating the vibrant works of LGBTQIA+ artists Adam Baker, Michelle Mildenhall and Phillip Prokopiou.
Combining an array of techniques including latex, oil painting and photography, this truly unique exhibition allows the artists to showcase their muses and exploration of Queer themes.
The exhibition will be displayed from 6th July to 6th September in Marconi Lounge, offering the chance to view and support some of the most exciting artists in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Adam Baker’s art is of a subversive nature, using oil paints as a contrasting technique to explore Queer themes and the realities of relevant issues, influenced by his own interest in the LGBTQIA+ community. Originally from London and specialising in abstract-figurative painting, Adam’s work is an inspiring addition to Marconi Lounge’s black marble gallery.
Michelle Mildenhall takes a more provocative approach to her art, applying latex combined with stylised imagery to her distinctive portraits, inviting her audience into a world of mystifying seduction and beauty through her engaging collection.
Originally born to Greek parents in South Africa, self-taught photographer and founder of Studio Prokopiou, Phillip Prokopiou uses ongoing dialogue with his subjects; combining photography with iconic eras of design such as pop culture and classical mythology, taking them on a journey of self-intervention and identity alongside his life partner and artist Panos Poimenidis.
